I am Phillip / Cool Shot! Photography

Published, award-winning photographer and educator with 30+ years behind the camera — starting in 1987 as a stringer for ESPN and the Associated Press. My background is in film photography, so I get the shot right in the camera the first time, not fixed in post. No matter if it's fast, furious, and chaotic, or elegant and ceremonial, I'm the right person to capture your images.

I've been the official photographer for events like the NCAA Equestrian National Championships, the Rodeo Finals, and the ARHA World Show — as well as the Rolex Three-Day Event, the Defender Three-Day Event, the Kentucky Derby, the Keeneland Stakes Races, Hawthorne's Illinois Derby, the Arlington Million, the Triple Crown Races, and the Maker's Mark Million — alongside weddings, engagements, and everyday portraits. I love creative images in a fast-paced environment and adapt to any given situation to bring out the beauty that's already there. I also have a very vivid imagination and I have way too much FUN creating images, so join me and let's make some memories.
